Car making like a rattle noise and smoking

Hi I have a Renault megane 1.9dci 2003 I was driving home today my car started making a scraping noise then lost off power I drove it about a mile to get home I left the car a hour went back out and took for a drive up the road to blow any crap out of it but no joy! Then took it back home they was clouds of smoke coming out but NO LIGHTS ON DASH!!

Inspect the belt through the small access hole at the top.

I'm no expert but turbo would be the first thing I would be looking at

True, can be the turbo.

I wouldn't drive it again until I'd checked the turbo. Sure you will get lights eventually, but by then the damage will probably mean writing the car off.
