megane 1.4 cam jumped teeth ?

hi my car was running fine until the service light cam on lost all power now garage are saying £1900 to repair i have been and bought another full engine with 3 months warranty what do i need to change/ replace before i can fit it and fire it up ? engine has done 58,000 miles

Hello,
A set of plugs of course & an oil filter. Also if you have no evidence that the timing belt has been changed it would be worth just doing it for what it costs, just for peace of mind. Check water pump drive. Also once installed & oiled up spin it over without the plugs on just to pump the oil round before firing up. Rgds.
