hi, I own a 120dci estate 54 plate.has anyone ever experienced the hand brake button going into the handle grip? if so could you kindly tell me how I can get it out without dismantaling the centre box set up etc, many thanks Johnny

as far as im aware you don't need to take the centre console off for this unless you are replacing the whole cable or adjusting it.

simply prise apart the actual handle. This is a two piece fitting. but be carful because its plastic and thus brittle to too much force. Once apart you should see the workings for the little button.

Its been a while so I could be wrong but its worth doing before tackling the centre console.

Cheers mate, i peeled back the leather after i ran a stanley knife along the stitching. opened up the handle and basically had to get my head around how it worked. i got it to work ok just by putting the button back into the grove 'area' where its meant to go. it just a case of tlc or just dont use it like any parts on the car and they wont brake. i would like to add lol but its the truth! i just switch off and leave it in gear. my car is 11 years old now and only done 52k miles. heaven knows what would happen if i used it as often as i should?
