Renault Megane RenaultSPort 175 Issue And Warning Message

Hope someone can help me got renaultsport mk2 175 and to unveil i was driving as normal and 1 mile down the road my car wouldn't accelerate past 3,000rpm in every gear it was like the car had gone into limp mode i parked up turn the car off and back on again same problem parked up popped the bonnet to unveil no leaks on any issues under the hood checked the oil level was normal started the car back up and the engine management light had come up then few seconds later the check emissions light came on i know the car needs the ball joint replacing to the passenger side lower suspension arm as it was ah advisory on the mot but knew couldn't be the fault took it to the local garage straight away and put it on the diag tool and popped back message delete particale filter blocked something like that has anyone every had this issue before or know anything about it help please as i use it three times ah week thanks

Hi AJSK,

On the modern diesels you have Diesel Particulate filter in order to reduce that bad fumes going in the atmosphere. They usually get clogged up after a while and they need to be regenerated. Usually you need to get it on the motorway and drive it for few miles until the ECU decides all the parameters meet the criteria. Then you're going to see a 'puff' out of the back and then the car should be fine. On some other cars this option should be triggered using Diagnostic tool. The worst and most expensive solution is the DPF to be changed. Hope that helps!. Ivan
