clutch question megane gt 150 dci
hi everyone i have just picked up my dci 150 gt...very very happy with it, i just wondered one thing, i have come from a petrol 2011 1.6 16v to a 2007 mk2 dci, the dci clutch seems very stiff doesnt make any noice at all and the as soon as you start to lift the clutch the car is away i.e low biting point...is it cos i have come from a newer car, is the clutch on its way or is a low biting point a good sign? anything that can improve the stiffness? many thanks richard

Re: clutch question megane gt 150 dci
It was probably replaced recently. If it is the case, then the biting point will rise a bit soon. Yes, this engine has much more torque, hence stiffness. Alternatively, it can be a problem with hydraulics or the self-adjustment... If hydraulics suspected, then change the brake fluid to a branded DOT5.1 asap, unless it was done recently. It is the same reservoir with the brakes, so bleed the brakes as well.

Re: clutch question megane gt 150 dci
When a clutch is re-placed you certainly have a short biting point. The reason for this is because the Centre plate (driven plate) is new & when it starts to wear biting point creeps up leaving more space between release bearing & pressure plate. Hense long biting point
