Driver’s Side Window Not Working

Postby JBaloooo » Sun Jan 04, 2015 9:10 pm

I'm having a few issues with the driver’s side door window on my 06 Megane. The issue first started when the window wouldn’t go back up after opening. This was initially resolved by turning the engine and all electrics off; and re-starting. The window would then close. Now the window won’t open or close – any suggestions?

regulator or wiring loom, my 05 did this on both fronts at once, new looms (modified allegedly - mostly paid for by renault as it was 4 years old) my 08 3 door has also had a new loom in the doors but has since had the same problem and renault have dropped the contribution for out of warranty contribution. Check the manual on the site for removal of inner door panel, disconnet connectors at motor and switch, spray with wd40 or similar and re-connect, try before rebuilding. Mine worked for a few months before doing same again and is still working, come to think of it second time was n/s door and first time was drivers door. This is if you feel competent with screwdriver and unplugging electrics etc. Otherwise you're at the dealers, specialist preferable or main dealer, local garage may be more costly in the long run, i.e.'it's the regulator' then 'it's the motor' followed by 'the wiring'

Hi there. I' ve had the same fault on my megane cc. Mine used to start working after wriggling the wiring loom or regulator unit on the offending window. There are some video' s on YouTube showing you how to get to each unit. One shows you how to get to the front ones via the speaker hole. Quicker than stripping the door down. A screwdriver and torx bit is all you need. Takes me 2 minutes now if the window stops down. I' ve also removed both rear window units and waterproofed them the best I can thanks to one of the video's. Hopefully OK for a while now. Renault will repair this fault for you if your car is up to 10 years old giving you 76% discount. It will still cost you £100+ to get any window done. That's why I've had a go myself. Best of luck. :D
