Electrical problems on 1.4 98ps

Hi all, trying to figure out whats wrong with my sisters car... 4dr 2004 1.4 16v 98ps...
She said all the electrical fault lights came on then the battery discharged and came to a hault...

Thought it was the altenator so got a new one, then new battery and nothing... found a lot of water in the fuse box, chrcked the fuses and dryed it out... still wont start... had it on a dianostic comp, and shows no faults...

Can some1 plse help or point me in the right direction...

Hi, I have the 1.4 16v had the same problem last week! Even though the fuses are ok the fuse box under the bonnet will need changed, this was the case with me, I went to my local scrapes found a decent megane in there and got the fuse box out it and got it put into mine, this fixed the car straight away, this is a common problem it seems. This sounds almost exactly the same as what happened to me, hope this helps. I had to get an auto electricians garage to fit the fuse box

My dash lit up saying electronic fault, car completely died on me and then when trying to start it the whole dash would light up as if the car was going to start but nothing from the engine, the electricals in the car worked fine but it wouldn't start, i also had it on diagnostics which showed no faults, and as soon as the under the bonnet fuse box was changed it was as good as new.

Thanks for the reply, im going to take a closer look at the fuse box now... my car is turning over, fuel getting to the engine, just no spark on any plugs(new coil pack added not long ago)

Would that be the fuse box or emmob or ecu?... how would i go about testing to figire out if the parts are ok?

Sorry im not very good with fixing cars, i just know this as the auto electrician told me that he checked my under the bonnet fuse box and that it had water in it, he then told me that he can fit a new one although he could not guarantee that that would fix the problem but said it is most likely as the fuse box had lots of water in it, once they are badly water damaged they will eventually pack in, to save a few quid i went to scrapes found the best looking megane and asked to get the fuse box, i then took it to the auto electricians who fitted the fuse box and my car has been absolutely fine so far, it started first time, before it was fixed it was displaying electronic fault on the dash, and sometimes lost power and made a few funny noises then decided to pack in completely. If the fuse box was water damaged it will most likely be this. when I had the problem last week i done a lot of google searches and it seemed to be a fairly common problem in these meganes, I was on the verge of scraping mine as i was that angry cause i have recently spent a small fortune on it, but glad i didnt as it was only the fuse box needed changed

ok i have found the issue, error code df117- Engine immobiliser code not programmed.

i have my emergence 4 digit code... but the instructions to do it i think is for a key and fob megane, this is a card one...

anyone know how i reprogram the immobiliser or input this emergency code for the card fob megane 2 (2004) models...

or if im on the right track even?
