Air con advice

Postby Snowgirl » Thu Jul 24, 2014 7:55 pm

Hiya, Had the aircon recharged on my mk1 Megane a couple of weeks ago. After a few days I noticed that it wasn't working so took it back to Concord Monday and they re done it. Said that it was blocked and regassed it. It was cold on Monday when I collected it but wasn't ice cold like my last megane. Yesterday I noticed that the air con wasn't working and tried it today and there is no different between having it air con on or off :banghead

Should I give up :( I'm guessing there must be a fault with the system?

Yep but when it's raining and humid the air con is nice. Also on a long run (driving 200+ miles Saturday) it's too much to have roof down (especially for my young son in the back!). I don't often use it though :D

If it was "blocked", as they said, then it's not good. Read this about blockages and other stuff:
https://www.aa1car.com/library/ac98.htm

Blocked aircons need to be fully re-flushed or often replaced.

On the other hand, many faults are introduced in servicing. If bored, one can read the factory manual in the sticky thread and compare it to the procedures in the garage in question...
