If its working fine and you do regular long run don't touch!
The life of the EGR is around 100,000 miles, then you'll start to get some fault codes and an amber engine light (boring). At this point the EGR will need to be replaced... No messing!
The mileage varies, but it will fail at some point due to the nature of where this valve lives and the job it does.

Re: megane 2.0 dci egr valve
Forgot to mention - regular oil & filter changes help the health of the EGR valve a lot. I have my Scenic since birth. I started out on a 9000 mile oil and filter change, but due to changes in driving habits and location I have switched to a 6000 miles interval.
Currently living in Malta so the car gets a lot of low speed low mileage runs these days.
So far one EGR valve replaced. No further issues.
She runs like a dream! Love this 1.9 DCi..
