2005 Megane 1.5dCi 100 ... Injection Fault - Stop error

Postby kentmegane » Fri Aug 09, 2013 3:24 pm

Hello guys,

I just bought a Renault Megane 2005 model Sport Hatch and it is the 1.5 dCi 100hp model.
The car has had full service history and the engine works really smoothly.
Car has 122.500 miles

But I have the following problem.

It works perfect most of the time but when in the 4th or 5th gear and put the accelerator on the floor after 2 seconds the injection fault + STOP comes on the dash. If I ease the accelerator a bit the warning goes away.
The car does not feel it has loss of power. It does feel good to drive.

Also if I switch off after a journey (ie at a fuel station to put some diesel in) while it is warm sometimes it will be difficult to start and might take more than 1 button presses to start. And the injection fault might come up.

There is no excessive smoke ... etc.

Any ideas?
I plugged in my OBDII and brought up the following codes , but it is not a clip system :(

I have already changed the fuel filter ... but the problem persists.

Cheers
Vasilis.

I found on another forum someone that had the same problem (on a megane 1.9 DCI) they were told to clean the egr valve and the MAF sensor, they did this using carb cleaner and the problem was solved. However i wouldn't recommend spraying it on electrical items like the MAF as they are very sensitive components.

I cant guarantee this will fix your problem but thought i should tell you incase it is whats causing the problem.

I will try to take the EGR out and clean it ... this should be the "easiest and non harming" thing to do.
Other than that .... MAF I agree is a sensitive kit, don't know if I will touch it, not yet at least.

Good luck with the cleaning of the eGR valve, let us know how it goes and ofcourse if it cures the problem. :)

OK took that car last Friday to be scanned and tested.
And came out to be Injector No1 (next to the battery) It did not pass the test with flying colours.
Also they did a diesel quality test and there are no aluminium pieces in the lines coming from the pump so I am safe in that scenario :) :)

I looked online and I have found reconditioned injectors for £95.00 + VAT with 12months warranty and me sending my old one back.

I will get one of those and have the garage have it installed and coded in the car :)

This should fix my problems.
