Check Injection - 54 plate Megane Extreme 1.4 16v

Postby DrewExtreme54 » Thu May 30, 2013 7:09 am

I'm getting very frustrated with my Megane. I've only had it since the end of March and so far I've had to buy a new key card (keyfax Manchester saved me some money though), and a new wiper motor. All in all it's cost me over £400.

Now this week it's started with a whole other issue. On Monday afternoon it wouldn't start having being stood for a day because of the bank holiday. It did start after a few goes and all seemed ok.

Then on my way home from work on Tuesday the "Check Injection" and "Service" lights came on and there was a distinct lack of power. I pulled over and started it up again and all was fine for a mile or so but then it happened again. It seems fine on the motorway but when in town it keeps happening.

I'm so frustrated with it. I was told not to buy French blah blah blah but thought how bad could they be. I know all second hand cars have issues but this is getting beyond a joke now. It's booked in with my bosses brothers garage tomorrow morning and I know he won't try ripping me off but I'm really worried about the expense that may be headed my way!!!

you could have any number of problems, the majority of the members with dci's on here have probably had this problem so try having a look through the forum threads to see if they helped
i had a look about and narrowed mine down to either the fuel lines or the EGR valve, and after cleaning the EGR valve with no success i know now what could be causing the problem

Hi mate, mine is the petrol version. It's booked in with my mates garage tomorrow so hopefully he can come up with something. I will mention the EGR Valve and air in the fuel line. I'll let you know the score!! Cheers
