Thanks for the good words.
What's next? The gearbox oil or the brake upgrade? Both or any of them will give you the same level of satisfaction! These can wait until warmer weather though.

Your welcome alex,
i really can not believe the massive improvement!! it runs so quiet its like driving a petrol car, all i hear is the nice smooth whistle of the turbo, really chuffed now, silky smooth,
Alex, What oil would you advise for the gearbox ?
Is it a straight forward job?
thanks again,
Ps, to the person who asked if the oil will be ok for the mighty 1.9dci, the answer is YES ! as that is the engine alex has.....

Re: Mobil 1 0w40 IS THE BEST FOR YOUR MEGANE
I use Motul Gear 300 75W-90 Racing gearbox and differential lubricant 100% Synthetic – Ester based, bought from opieoils. There is sale now, plus a discount for our club. This oil is good for all Meganes apart from RS with Lim Slip Diff, for which it is too slippery. I needed two bottles, check how much your box takes!

The job is a bit fiddly without a lift. One can use a plastic tube from B&Q to extend the nozzle on the oil bottle in order to feed the oil from above the engine rather than struggling under the car. In this case you need two people: one is watching below, and one is squeezing the bottle above. The oil flows slowly, it might take 15 minutes or so. Have a look in the manual for the location of the plugs. Basically, you keep adding oil until it overflows. Then you screw the plug in (I mean the plastic one on the side of the gearbox). There is also a metal plug for draining old oil.

Yes.
Turbo diesel or not, it comes from the same tap. The TD version does not have the petrol accreditation, which helps Mobil to save a couple of pennies on the stamp.
