Toxic fumes light....

Postby TELREA » Mon Dec 10, 2012 8:10 pm

Hi all,had our little 2004 megane 2 1.5 dci now for 18 months....love it,no problems aside from having to replace a few headlight bulbs  Which is what i was in the middle of doing yesterday, was finishing the job, when a sudden downpour occured, quickly finished up,but before i got into the car to check the new bulb was working,i noticed what i thought was a very faint burning smell...unable to pinpoint if it was even from the car i started it up to find the "SERVICE" Light was now illuminated along with the TOXIC fumes light  .Car is still running fine no misfiring, starts ok(although has been a little hesitant on these colder mornings)doing a search on this problem seems to point to problems with petrol models ignition/coils...anyone indicators what problems i might be looking at?Have ordered a OBD2 scanner of ebay to help with fault codes....cheers
