I have a 2006 megane 1.5dci maxim it has an auto button at end of left hand stalk what is it for as manual isn't clear can anyone help. I used to have a laguna 2 which had auto wipers but can't see it on this car but there is a sensor on windscreen :?:

I can't remember which features a Maxim had as standard but it does sound like you have the auto lights and auto wipers (or a replacement stalk of the wrong type).

To activate the auto lights press and hold the auto button for a few seconds and a message should appear on the dash to say 'auto lights activated' or something similar.

:)

PS If you have have the auto lights then you also have the auto wipers but it is only the lights you can activate/de-activate, the wipers are permanently on auto when the right hand stalk is in first position down (ie the 'intermittent position').
Clio 1.5 dCi 88 Dynamique Tom Tom in Oyster Grey + Twingo GT in Pearl Black on a '58'.

Thanks jake now have found all it does is when lights are left on and engine off and card out it cuts power to lights. It does have auto wipers but does have a sensor on screen! It's a litre strange as had laguna 2 last which had auto wipers and closed all windows and sunroof on locking but not this :-(
