Frozen electric windows

Postby WagsMo » Mon Mar 26, 2012 7:13 pm

A week or so ago, the drivers window stopped working, but then today, somehow my wife was 'lucky' to be able to open it. Only problem is, I now have a drivers window stuck open by about 2/3inches, and cant budge it (without trying a 'physical overide'). I've tried multiple combinations of locking unlocking, fuses in, fuses out, engine running & not, holding the switch on, banging the door panel and disconnecting the battery etc etc.

Anyone got any other (proven) suggestions before I revert to the renault helpline? - thank god the weather's good at the moment!

Do a search on the forum, there's loads of posts about window faults and possible fixes/solutions as I am having issues with my drivers window not working at all at the moment and have read most of them :)

Hi. I've tried most of the suggested solutions I can find on this and other forums with no luck - did you find any one in particular that worked for you?

All I managed to do was disassemble the plug to the regulator, check for water ingress, clean and refit as well as checking the socket near the door hinge which also suffers from water ingress. That got the passenger window working and all that was then needed was a reset (hold down for 5 seconds when open & hold up for 5 seconds when closed.

At the moment I'm still working on the drivers side as I think the regulator is fried :(

Thanks Neildriver. I would go to the lengths of disassembling everything, but as its not guaranteed to fix the issue, i may just go to renault customer services.
