How to open the bonnet ?
Hello! I have megane 2 ph2 and my bonnet stuck. I cannot open it with the interior handle. The handle is very soft, and i think that i remove the wire, when i was replacing the bulbs. It sounds when i like to open the bonnet in area 10cm from the driver side ligh

Re: How to open the bonnet ?
can you see the full lock mechanism?
you should have a really small notch on it that if you apply a little force with a flat head screw driver, will pop the lock?
fingers crossed for you bud.
if you can see the wire and its still attatched yank it

i can see the mechanism but it is very tight to control it with a screw. I dont know how the mechanism works and in which direction i have to pull the lock. I cant see the wire.

Re: How to open the bonnet ?
there should be a small part/notch that you can apply force to that relases the main clamp, is so difficult to explain,
your lack of space will not help, but imagine the small bar on the bonnet is sat in a groove, then another bar comes over and through the bonnet bar to hold it in place, its that you need to release and there's defo something there to press back its like a secondardy clip thing.

This will hopefully be helpful to you, it suggests taking out the grill and pulling on the cable manually.. Must be worth a try, although I suppose it depends where the cable has snapped wheather or not you can do this..
Fingers crossed for you!

Re: How to open the bonnet ?
When my cable snapped, I had my grille out but couldn't work out how to open it from there. Popped in to a garage with the grille still off and he couldn't do it from there grille either.
Popped back to him when he opened up (the last time he was finishing for the day) , he put it on a ramp, and it was easy! Even fitted the new cable for me all within half hour's labour.

Re: How to open the bonnet ?
Yea he opened from under the bonnet. He told me straight away that he had done one before from underneath but still had a go from the grille when I first took it down.... using lights and everything we couldn't even see the catch!
