'Check Injection' Message

Hi all,
Very dissapointed with my Megane lately, pretty much sick of it.
Anyway, to the point, after the timing belt snapping and the engine being fixed then having a catastrophic oil leak because of a faulty seal splitting I've been getting the message 'Check Injection' up on my dashboard. Accompanying this, is a burst of acceleration as soon as I apply the slightest pressure to the gas pedal. Also, it will not go any faster than 50mph and wont rev higher than 3.5k. However this problem seems to be VERY tempremental, as the past 2/3 days it has been spot on! I have tried disconnecting the battery to 're-calibrate the ECU' but I knew that would be a load of bollocks as it has proven to be.

Any other suggestions guys? I really hope its not an expensive fix!

This is Tom's dad;I'd like to point out that immediately after calibration we went for a 13 mile run and everything was fine. Two days later it goes from fine to cack back to fine again.Is there any merit in calibrating again?We left the battery disconnected for an hour.Was that enough or too long?Does it maybe need some "welly" during the 5 mile post-tickover part of the calibration?

the ECU is not calibrated, at most is reset but not recalibrated. Can you specify the engine+car you have?

It is a 2003 model (53 reg) and a 1.4

do you have any chance to scan the car for error via EOBD plug? A computerized diagnostic in other words...this way you can read whats behind that error "Check injection", besides that it will be guessing...

Is it safe to assume then, that even though all this started after the battery was disconnected, the procedure for resetting in Haynes manual is pointless?Also, I know someone with a diagnostic computer but will it show the fault even when it's not actively affecting the car?

reseting yes, not recalibrate. Its not pointless to some faults, but in this case it didnt solve your problem...

We took the car round to a friend's tonight to use his fault code reader but it wouldn't link up with the ECU.On the way the message appeared along with nutty throttle response, and also according to Tom, poor braking.We pulled over, switched off for 30 seconds and carried on our way for a further 10 miles without a problem.
As the Americans say, "Go figure".

Read MR366MEGANE1.pdf in the sticky thread, search it for "throttle". I don't think it is possible to give a better advice without reading the OBD information. ELM 327 reader (£20 on ebay) is known to work. You need (a) to get the trouble codes from the ECU, and (b) to record the operating parameters of the engine when triggering the fault.

Tom, don't be "disappointed" with this car - it took as much abuse and neglect as it could and is still trying to save your life. The above manual strongly advises not to drive the car with the throttle fault. The brakes also cause concern.

Regarding the brakes. Does it feel like the servo is not getting enough vacuum? It can be related to the engine.
