Boot lid stuck....help:(

Postby TELREA » Fri Nov 11, 2011 6:50 pm

very quickly, wife was loading stuff into our wee megane, and she slammed the boot shut without realising a sleeve of a coat was hanging out,now part of it is caught, and i cant get the boot to open,i read there is a release catch located inside the boot, but im baffled as to where and how i access it.I climbed into the boot(nightmare)and am i right in saying i need to remove the black plastic cover to access this latch,or could some kind soul please tell me exactly where cheers

Did you pull of the centre piece of trim?

Good to know you sorted it!

Dave i loosened it enough so i could see the little white lever, stuck a small screwdriver in,pushed it to the left, went out and give the lid a good tug and it opened..not too hard, but a pain in the rain :-)

Thanks for reporting back. All these things help to inform the rest of us. Mine developed an odd fault (it would spontaneously unlock/refuse to lock). I put some copper anti-seize on the mechanism (behind the trim and away from the electrics) and since it has performed as advertised.
