Misses brought her car for MOT failed on Suspension joint : excessive movement on the NSF, car is 2005 1.4
I jacked up the passenger side and there is a bit of movement from left to right, guy at the MOT center said it was most likely the ball joint. I replaced the suspension arm this morning, what a job bit of a pain with the half subframe in the way! Now thing is it hasn't made a difference, drop link and track rod end seem fine could it possibly be the top mounts?

Re: MOT failed
Did a search and found the problem I'm having could be the inner track rod/axial rod so gonna go and have a look now will let you know how I get on.

Re: MOT failed
yep, the problem was not the suspension arm but the rod end or axial rod, its attached to the steering box, you can miss it. if by hand you feel a "click" on your hand youve found your problem.
good luck

Re: MOT failed
Replaced the axial rod and TRE yesterday was handy enough thought it was gonna be a nightmare but managed to get the vice grips on, a few taps and off it came
Luckily enough it looks like Renault didn't have any thread lock on it! It didn't feel that bad but when moving side to side there was the exact feeling you got with the wheel a slight notch side to side. Tested after fitting everything and as good as new just need the alignment set
