2004 Dci Oil Loss

Hi Guys,

I have recently noticed that my 2004 Dci has started to use oil. I have checked all around the engine with no obvious signs of leaks, checked on the dipstick for signs of coolant and in the coolant which is still clean.

Are there any oil consumption limits to be aware of or is there something more sinister going on??!! (possible turbo problems!!)

how much we are talking about? make a measurement for about 1000 or 2000 miles and give us a post.

Did an oil change about 7 weeks ago and used 5ltrs.

On the dipstick it is just under 3/4 full (and the in-car gauge shows 3 full bars). I have done about 3000 miles since the oil change.

If I remember correctly, the difference between the min and max levels is 2 litres. You have used therefore half a litre in 3000 miles. This is okay for a diesel.
