hello guys, first time on here and have found the site very helpful. i have an 03 megane dynamique 1.6 VVT 16v with just 47000 miles. recently had the gearbox and clutch changed. ever since then started to experience loss of power and cuts when idling or stepping fully on the clutch. that was sorted by replacing the camshaft sensor,
however i am now experiencing some serious battery drain. each time the engine is turned off, the battery needs to be boosted for the car to start. changed the battery for a heavy duty one and still same thing. battery drain occurs EVERY time engine is turned of for a few seconds to a couple of hours. was wandering could this be as a result of faulty glow plugs or dephaser solenoid? more so, the fault messages 'electrical fault' and 'check injection' have been displayed once lately!
what do i do? help please!

I gave you your own thread, that way you'll get answers pertinent to your question and the OP in the other thread will get answers pertinent to theirs.

Is the electronic power steering still active?
I would remove each of the big fuses on the battery +VE terminal one at a time and interpose an ammeter. Lock the car (tape the bonnet sensor down) and monitor the current drain. It should be next to 0 after 30 minutes. At least with this approach you can narrow down what is still operating.
Next, do the same thing for the relevant fuses in the engine bay, then progress to the glove box. By this time you should have a clear idea of what isn't switched off.
I think there is a manual showing the wiring diagram in the sticky at the top of this forum. It will be a pdf file.

Re: Battery drain issues
Have you checked the alternator charge rate and the alternator regulator?
