Electric Window Problem

Postby garethhuggins » Sun Feb 17, 2008 6:58 pm

I've just joined the Owners Club and having difficulty connecting to the right areas regarding a query I have over my Megane.

I have a 52 plated 1.6 3 door which has developed a problem with the electric windows sometimes coming down as they should with a touch of the button and on the otherhand having to repeatingly press the button to lower the windows an inch by inch process.

This sometimes occurs when I want the windows to come down and up.

I'm assuming its relay problem but if any of your members could help me solve this very annoying problem I would be much appreciative.

Best regards

Gareth

Hi and welcome. Your post should really be on the Ownership Problems section which is on the index on the homepage, use 'New Topic' and someone is bound to come along to help. There are lots of window problems I'm afraid. You could try Search in the meantime by using the search button on the home page. I can remember finding it all a bit confusing when I was new to the site but I am sure you will find your way around very quickly. ATB.

PS I copied your message on to the Ownership Problems page so hopefully you should get a response soon. The site is very slow tonight to get on to and to get around. 9.45pm Sunday

Moved.

My internet is capped at 128Kb cuz I broke the FUP so everything is slow for me!

Have you tried to reset the windows?
With the windows up, you hold the rear switches up for about 10 seconds.

Once the windows are fully up, hold the switch in the up position for a good few seconds. As stated in a previous response, 10 seconds seems reasonable. I had to do this recently after a flat battery and it didn't work first time on every window. For some I could do it from the individual switches but the final one would only let me do it from the main switch panel in the driver's door. However they all reset in the end.

Naughty! Yeah, tell him you heard that the window regulators might need replacing and hope that there is no unfortunate twist . . and they do!
