54 Reg 225, 22K miles Artic Blue
Has anyone out there got the solution to this
Toxic Fume Light intermittantly comes on at idle. Only constants are,
a. Engine warm
b. Engine at idle
Doesn't matter whether done 2 yards or 200 miles light may illuminate. No misfire or rough running detected only thing noticed is a slight tonal difference with exhuast note akin to weak mixture when we had used to be able to fiddle round with the mixture screw on older Renaults.
Had car in at 2 dealers now over 12 visits no joy. Fault comes up as non specific misfire no 1 cylinder (No 1 coil & injector and fuel rail changed) by Renault Derby, Renault Cannock changed No 3 injector.
Car goes out of warranty Sept 07 any recourse to Renault UK to get this problem solved once and for all and if so how?

Hi there
Sounds like classic coil faliure to me. The difference in the engine sound would seem to confirm this. I am surprised that you don't notice a misfire though, as you are obviously aware - rough running and coil faliure normally go hand in hand.
Hope you get it sorted soon, I would (personally) go spare at my dealer to get it fixed. It would not be an inexpensive visit to them after your warranty expires.
Regards
Rob
