hi, im trying to source the knocking i have at the front of my 225. it only knocks when going over small bumps in the road. i have been to the garage and they have told me its the inner tie rod ends that are knocking. i dont believe that these can knock and everyone i have spoken to says the same. i have changed the track rod ends and the drop links so far and am currently looking at changing the lower wish bones.

if anyone has got an idea what this could be or has had a similar problem then please let me know.

cheers

james

It is quite possible to be the tie rods.

I have replaced many on Meganes. Quite an easy task and not too costly. Also prone to bottom ball joints.

Hope this helps.

Mechanic.

I had similar. Knocking/tapping, especially noticeable over smaller bumps at slower speeds. I've been told it is the offside anti roll bar link, whatever that is. I expect I will get it changed soon.

had similar on mine and had drop link changed to fix it

one test you could try is bouncing the suspension at the corner to hear if its a knock or a squeak, cause it could be a suspension bush if you say its not a drop link

Well, I've now had the nearside anti roll bar link replaced, and the offside ball joint link. Yes, it's quieter, but the slow speed knocking is still there. My local mechanics cannot find anything wrong at all, so it's still a mystery.
