Traction control not existant?

Hi there,

I have just bought a megane renaultsport 225 and I'm really loving it. One thing that troubles me though is that I wheelspin frequently with the traction control supposedly on. Even in second I can wheelspin easily. No traction control light comes on or anything and I'm worried it's not functioning. Has anyone come across this before?

Any advice would be welcome.
