Hi
I have a megane 225 06 plate and Occasionally when accelerating mainly in first when starting up. It will reach 2000 rpm and the car will slow down really quick,( throwing me forward) its almost as if the car is hitting the redline. Has anyone had this problem? Or does it need to go back to the garage?

Thanks

I'm sure I've read about an early limiter that is enabled when the engine is cold.

Mine does it 2, think its normal, wouldnt worry, u shouldnt really be overloading it till the turbo is nice and warm anyway

Hmmm interesting,

Im having the same problem except mine has now refused to give any boost whatsoever, turbo is fine, there are no boost leaks, fuel system is fine, injectors are fine, car just drives like a car without a turbo, driving me potty. I accelerate heavily and engine sputtered cutting the boost off this occurred when engine was cold and wasnt warm enough. I thought maybe fuel flow as i do run the tank low, any ideas??

Nothing is supposed to be shown on the screen on the dash. By your answer... you may need to pay someone to do the job for you.

The only errors that was being reported was my drivers airbag and post cat sensor that were sorted before the mot, the emissions where high but after cleaning both the pre-cat and post cat sensors the emissions were fine.

OK. So, at least the OBD codes were checked...

The next question. Are you sure the boost doesn't happen? Do you have a gage for it? I've no idea about RS225, but in my RS250 Cup the boost shows on RS monitor.

You see, the engine management system may cut the power down, if a dangerous fault is detected. We need to distinguish between this and the faults around the turbo.

Cheers, I know a guy who will plug it in, will get him to check injectors and he can check boost pressure.

Managed to sort the problem out, it was the boost control valve, valve change, car back to normal now ;-)
