I am looking at buying a megane 225 and have driven it for the first time today. Under acceleration above 2500 rpm it makes quite a loud whistle sound from the engine bay. I have not drive any other 225's to compare so im unsure if this is normal, possible turbo sound? or there could actually be something wrong? Could anyone please advise? many thanks.

Cheers Mitch, i have had a look around the internet and found a few peole who say the 225 turbo does whistle - i found this quote at https://www.caradvice.com.au/58426/renau ... oad-test/- The turbo makes a curious, mischievous whistle when it comes on boost that sounds like a vacuum cleaner stuck in warp drive. This is the noise that is happening, so looks like it's normal i think. Thanks for the reply.

That's the sound I love and it's half what made me buy a RenaultSport Megane II in the first place! :D

It's normal.

Get it remapped and then you'll know a whistle!
