Airbag/Service light!

A few weeks ago service light and airbag light came on intermittently this followed by clicking noise when turning steering wheel.

I removed covers just below steering wheel and discovered a sad looking cable loom creased up and a few pieces of plastic I assume to be part of a diagnostics which must send information to management system.

I also found that the cruise control works around this "loom" as it does not respond when trying to activate and must assume airbag now will not function now.

Have been in touch with Renault and have been quoted £145 if loom can be still used or £310 if new loom to be fitted,would appreciated any feedback whether this sounds resonable.

Have u tried disconnecting then reconnecting the pre tensioner connector underneath the passenger seat?? I had the same problem but started there first before taking to a garage. cleared the service light on the dash anyways.
