Hi All,
I know this has been talked about before, but I cannot find the links, and cannot remember any resolutions to the problem.
When you drive a performance car, inevitably there are times that the right foot needs to decend forcibly to encourage maximum acceleration.
I have no problem from 1st to 2nd gear, indeed any gear to any gear you like, even 2nd to 4th or 6th, OR 3rd to 5th or whatever.
The only combination that is ALWAYS completely unsuccessful, is 2ND GEAR TO 3RD GEAR. I have never yet managed it successfully.
Any ideas folks as to what may be the cause of this embarressing dilemma?
Thanks
2nd to 3rd gear problem

Re: 2nd to 3rd gear problem
Perhaps I also need to add that this problem only occurs under HARD acceleration. I CAN change from 2nd to 3rd gear normally with no problem. Thanks.

Re: 2nd to 3rd gear problem
Change the gearbox oil to the new OEM with nanotechnology. It's thinner, which helps synchros a bit. It will also reduce wear and add shock resistance due to potassium borate particles added. Having written this... nothing will help if a bit of the synchromesh is already missing. Still, worth a try.

Well, thanks for that Alex. I will certainly give it a try. Cheers.
