Hello, would check the Heater Fan switch, make sure it works on all 4 speeds, if not it`s a costly repair. Also if you do buy it, I would change the oil every 6000 miles/6 months to stop any turbo problems. Other than that, they are great vehicles !! Hope this helps, regards Damian. :-)
PS Just check it has a FSH as well. :-)

I think that's a bit steep, unless of course you're getting a fab price for your trade in.

What prefix and model is it, does it have any extras, are they throwing in any warranty with it? A top of the range Privilege, 6 speed on a 55 plate should be selling for slightly less than that.

As the OP's original post appeared 12 weeks ago I expect he's made his mind up by now? ;) Hope he didn't pay that!

Cheers, that'll teach me to take a few weeks out

Ask them to print out the service/repair history. It is stored in their central database.

In case of a problem write down the number plate, go to the service department of any dealer and ask for a quote for something, such as brake master cylinder replacement. Then ask the service department to print out the history as well.

Then bring the history here and we'll see.

It is also advisable (depending on your personal level of expertise) to hire an engineer to do the mechanical check.
