Insurance Alarms

Postby Andyo33 » Sun Feb 03, 2008 9:55 pm

Hi all

I am (hopefully) picking up my 53 plate 1.9dci dynamique in a week, I'M just trying to sort my insurance out.

What type of alarm/immobiliser is the car likely to have as standard? Ive heard different reports of thatcham 1 or 2 immobilesers etc.

The best quote ive got is 350 with m&s insurance.

Thanks

Andy

cat 1 matey, alarm and immobilser. Its a total closure too so you cant leave windows etc open, when you deadlock the car they shut automatically

on most insurance forms, you can chose "manufacturer alarm"

On my (non-hands free) Dynamique, it's 1 fob lock button press to deadlock and a second to get the windows and sunroof to close.

yes this was the same on my last meg saloon i had but as i said i left window open deadlocked the car but the window didnt come up, i was wondering if you have to hit start button a few times to set it or the window button, its not a problem but just wondered why it doesnt work

hi mate, usually if the window doesn't go up when you deadlock it's because of a dodgy regulator (which i had a few days ago) but if your window is workin' then i have no clue.

i know you can set you car to things like stop the alarm goin' off incase a dogs in the car or somethin'. tell's you different options in the hand book. but they usually resest next time you lock the car as normal.

you may have a wee bproblem on your hands...

thanks for the reply, yes my window works pefectly so its not the regulator, i have to take the car in end of March for it being a year old and it wants service so think i will ask the chappies at renault then why this doesnt work, its not a problem but it is handy to have
