Hi to all my first post on this site iv just sold my 3.0 s-type as im putting £50.00 a week in and avr 19.0 to the gallon,
so iv got rid and bought a 2003 RENAULT MEGANE 1.5 AUTHENTIQUE DCi is this a good megane, are ther any known probs, cheers Paul :D

hello mate, your scenario sounds like me. i had a 3 litre V6 thats was costing me £70 a week in petrol. have moved over to a 1.9 dci and am saving over half the money. yours being a 1.5 will be even better!

as for probs have a search in the ownership problems forum as most things will have been covered in there

Not sure about the older ones, but from what I've seen on this forum, the 1.5dCi is one of the best engines for the Megane. I'm regularly getting 60mpg from mine.

i'll second that my 04 1.5dci is really cracking at 58.5 mpg.
04' 1.5tdci, black, superb mpg, £35.00 tax, dirt cheap insurance, superb looking.

its a great little motor, bit chattery but its a derv, reckon you could see your fuel bill go sub £15 and £35 year car tax band B yoo hoo, good on motorways aswell i bang mine up and down the A1 (m) twice a week for 5 hours at a time and no complaints except using cruise control drops the MPG a tiny bit.
Bumpy and full of coconuts.

Some Meganes have the wiring loom for the Cruise Control so it is possible to retro fit it.
