Help ... When you want to raise or lower the roof do you need to open windows or is this done automatically ?? Thanks

Hi, I take ownership of the same car Wednesday, and the garage owner also instructed me to make sure you open all the windows before you take the roof off. Thanks for clearing this up and saving me time as well.
