Megane cabriolet remap

Postby laurenf » Fri Jul 01, 2011 11:44 am

Hi everyone....

I'm wanting to buy a megane cabriolet (it'll be 2004 onwards). I was after a 1.9 diesel. But there's not many of these for sale, so I'm thinking of getting a 1.6 petrol and remapping it, as there's a lot more 1.6 petrols for sale. I just wondered if anyone has had their megane remapped and what extra power they go out of it?

Also, are there any common faults I should look for before puchasing my Megane cabriolet?

Thanks :)

Lauren

Re-mapping a 1.6 110hp petrol will give very little improvement
The 1.5 dci 106hp re-mapped will produce around the 130hp
Seriously worth looking at as the cc is a heavy car
Hope this helps Steve

thanks for your reply! how much extra bhp do you think the 120bhp 1.9 would get after a remap? i might just look into gettin a 1.5 and remapping that. i'd save on fuel and tax then! :)

Usually about 20% gain so 24-30hp but can be alot more if you want full on power but 20% gives a rounded balance of power and ecconomy.
