What is it like to drive because 80hp doesnt seem like a lot for a car like the megane? I used to have the 1.4 16v with 98hp and that was a little sluggish.

With that milage and age for a diesel I would be be extremely keen to see the service schedule. It should have been serviced contrary to the manufacturers guidelines at 1 year or 9000 miles (whichever is the soonest). I would also be interested to check here: https://www.motinfo.gov.uk/ to see the history of the car. Also, the cam belt should be changed at 5 years or 72k whichever happens first.

4k seems a lot unless the car has been very meticulously maintained. Ask a lot of questions, or more likely than not, you will be on here more than you want to be!

Check the windows, water ingress, wiring problems or history, air-con or similar works, and have a look at the consistency of the oil. It should I believe be a fully synthetic B4 standard. Query this.

thanks for the reply , bit late as ive already bought it earlier on,
i checked the service documents it had a major renault service at 11k, which was at jan 08, so since then the car as only done 2k miles....
ive checked everywhere oil looks good, seems really tidy,
as with the cambelt, im going to have a look around prices, and get it done asap after xmas i sure a few miles wont hurt it,...

thanks for the website and the replys

I hope you don't come back (this is a good thing if the car continues to go well! )

Hi, did you get two keycards with the car? If so do they both work?
Cheers, Mike K
