Hello All,
I have seen a 2004 megane for sale in a garage, but the dealer said he is not sure if the cam belt has been changed or not as there is no record of it in the paperwork. The car has done 78,000 miles and the dealer said that normally it is changed in the 80,000 mile service, but it may have already been done.
How do i know if the cam belt has been changed, is there some easy way of checking this under the bonnet?
When should the cam belt have been changed?
How much does it cost to change a cam belt?
Thank you.

Re: Cam Belt
You can look at the belt n try to judge if it looks new.. Otherwise I wouldn't risk not changing it, if they can do it try to make some deal on the overal price including the belt change.

Re: Cam Belt
if you are interested in the car and the dealer wants to make a sale, tell them you'll buy it on the condition that the cam belt is done
