Megane GT DCi... Any Comments?
Hi all... Ordered my new Megane GT DCi 150 a week ago. Gone for a 3 door in mineral blue with folding door mirrors and a tune point.
Looking through the forum theres a few people with bad experiences but these all seem to be on 2006 or early 2007 cars...
Does anyone know if these have been resolved in more recent models?
Also has anyone who has bought one recently had any issues I can keep an eye out for...
Its due for delivery the first week in may so will be an 08 plate...
Cheers

I don`t own one but the only problem I know of is the service which is every 9000 miles which is too often in my opinion.

Re: Megane GT DCi... Any Comments?
Yeh I was a bit dubious about this at first, but after thinking about it im not too worried. As after looking at the actual costs and speaking to various people, they are more regular, but dont equate to much more expense.
For example on the whatcar website it quotes the 3year service cost of the DCi GT as £1,258 which is £420 a year. However the 1.5 DCi 106 is £892 for 3 years or £297 for a year.
So based on this it will only cost an extra 30 quid ish... thats obveyously based on an average mileage (12-15kpa I should think).
So it seems the services are more regular, but also more minor and cheaper.
Im not a mechanic so I could be wrong... but thats how I interperit it.
Cheers

My March 07 GT is on 12k service intervals
I had a lot of electrical problems (All solved now)n nothing mechanical thankfully
Apart from that its a great car, performance is a little off, I feel the Renaultsport 175 would possibly be a better purchase.
Sadly with fuel prices as they are I am seriously considering the 1.5 DCi new Laguna dynamique,

hehe Im not sure I can make that promise... It would probably feel more like 2 seconds as I am moving from a 1.4 clio...

GTDave a quick question, if a ford fiesta ST with loud music and four passengers pulls up next to you at the lights and gives you eye contact and revs his car what are you going to do?
I have a feeling you will show him 0-62 in less than 7 seconds
Ow what temptation does to us....

haha... I cant argue with you :¬)
If I were in your car I would put some sunglasses on and fold the roof back and then just cruise away...
much more cool

Well all the women would want to hop on to my car and then I am sure the fiesta driver would sue me for theft.
