hi has anyone got/considered puting racing stripes (the ones that go over bonnet/roof) on their megane? does anyone think it would suit the megane. just thinking of ways to customise the look of my megane.

fair enough, at the moment it completely standard. any ideas of cosmetic mods that suit a 3dr?

which alloys does it have? the megane has massive arches, so IMO 17s look about right, 18s would look good, just abit expensive. a 40mm lowering would look good aswel.

it has standard 16" alloy. was thinking about 17" but not sure what type would look decent. i`m not very good when it comes to things like this

well meganes arent really my forte, but i really like the ones that came with mine, standard renualt ones, no idea what they are called though

trouble is tyres are 205/50/17 which isnt a common size so for decent tyres its very expensive.

theres a standard dark blue megane near me with silver viper stripes and it look kack, I thought about getting this done on mine like, ended up not doing it, but i think it looks ok.

Or something like this:

Something a little less durastic:

theres plenty of people about that will make you custom graphics.
Loads of cosmetic mods you can do, lowered is a must, get some alloys slapped on, 20's will fit under the megane arches, heres a pic of a meg on 19's dropped on coilovers:

Loads of kits and spoilers about if your into that sort of thing:

new front and back lights, colour code the bump strips, new mirrors, paint brake calipers, 3rd brake light covers, etc the list could go on and on.

that red/orange one looks good apart from being badgeless, that silver one just looks like its been drove through halfords ripspeed department

i do like the standard F1 decals, but only on megane sports.
I would love a set of the sports alloys, but theres no way im changing the majority of the suspension and drive shafts/ hubs for them

please do not turn your car into anything similar to that silver one. It looks like halfords has threw up on it.
Keep it nice and subtle, lowered on 18's or 19's. and wouldnt put stripes over it, will look a bit odd I think.

NOOO strips please, it will look chavtastic if you do
If your new to modding cars, or as you say "crap at it" start with the basics with things like Debadging the REAR of the car. if you want alloys then 18s would look good, but then you would have to lower it, as it will look like a tractor!

Tint the rear windows, nice exhaust if you want and keep the paint work clean and free of stickers. car will look classy and not tacky, Less it more as they say......
if you want to start changing bumpers etc..... you cant go wrong with the 225 megane look!!!

ok lots of people have done it, but you can put your own spin in it, with what wheels, exhaust type you chose etc.....
Personally i think Mcmurrys megane is how it should look!!

Thanks mate but there are a lot nicer meganes around than mine. I've mine lowered on 18's with the back 3 windows tinted and the boot debadged. If I'd the money, i'd probably have it a lot nicer.
sometimes a subtley modified car thats kept very clean can be nicer than over the top cars.
still wouldnt put stripes over it though.

ill try and get some pics up of my car. its black 3 door. not really interested in body kits (to expensive), just decent alloys and get it dropped. i like the the colour just a pain to keep it looking clean. i only had it 6 months but looks like the previous owner was a bit heavy handed when polishing it. is there a way to get the swirl marks out, they are only very light.

I Cant see how everyone slates the silver meg, i think bar the headlights it looks well, ive seen the car in the flesh and the pics just do not do it justice, it looks spot on when your stood next to it. nearly bought that front bumper myself, glad i didnt tho as it is very low, and my bumper now catches alot of stuff.

ive got some black rear lights same as the ones on that silver meg in the pics if you'd be interested, would look well on a black car, just need to pull my finger out and get the other ones put on.
