K&N Panel Filter

Postby pmoss » Wed Feb 27, 2008 1:31 pm

Has anybody had any experience of using the K&N panel filter in the 1.6 16v 115bhp Megane II?

Looking to get one and was just wondering if anybody had any experiences to pass on, positive or negative.

thanks,
Pete

I prefer to stay away from K&N due to quality of product and actual "performance gains".
I've only ever used BMC.

Rollo - it's a replacement performance air filter.

well, the filter turned up in the post the other day and I fitted it yesterday afternoon. I have to say I am VERY impressed with the simplicity of the design to get into it, took about 3 minutes from start to finish (compared to my old Mk6 Fiesta which required removing/dismantaling the engine cover to get at the filter!

Not had much chance to drive the car yet - will post a report in a couple of weeks, not expecting much mind!

well, as promised - an update on the filter!

Much as expected really (and others have commented) - a nicer noise (especially when you nail it!), maybe a tiny bit smoother (although its a bit like the difference between using regular or super unleaded, I can tell the difference because I drive it all the time but the missus can not tell!).

Worth it for a small outlay I guess, and it should prove cost effective over time due to removing the need to paper jobs each time.
