Recently brought a 1.4 silver megane, totally standard. want to start and make it look different, Gonna start with the alloys but dont know what size to have without having to have it lowered, 18's or even 19's? any ideas anyone? with low profile tyres or not?

Considering engine I'd say 17x7,5 is maximum. Tyres 17x45x215

Here is a link for a tyre calculator from the Rochford Tyres site:

https://www.alloywheels.com/tyrecalc.asp

Use this to work out what size tyres you will need if you put bigger wheels on your car but still want the speedo to work acurately.
There is a good range of alloys on their website too.

You will have to go for 225/40/18 or 215/40/18 tyres which will have a different feel to the standard profile tyres. A harder ride and a tendency to tramline. Better handling though.

19's will fit with 35mm profile, may scuff very slightly on full lock depending on the offset you get. a few people have 20's on the sports which have the same arches as the 1.4s just a different wheel offset.
