One question for the techs: what do you think to 'chipping' the engine to unleash that power in waiting? Superchips claim an increase to 124 BHP with stacks more torque

Cheers deano, I think i'll give it a go. Sod the warranty, thats assuming i'll need it????, However, superchips reckon they'll cover any probs brought about by the re-mapping.

124 bhp and stacks more torque sounds ok for a frugal 1.5 dci.

would this sort of thing be obvious in the event of a warranty claim, i had never even thought about one of these but the claims are pretty impressive if they are true.

possibly not. I guess they may only suss if they had to run a diagnostic. But (and its a big but) I reckon they're all that crap they would never notice!

for servicing etc it will be undetectable, they'll only find out about the remap if they go looking via a diagnostics etc.

Yeah we charge £300 but we can offer discount on group purchases etc, I been speaking to a few people in NI regarding becoming tuners and they were saying the same that there are some companys that are pushing remaps out at below £200, all i can say to that is be careful as some companys will push cars to far and cause problems etc, i'll be honest we do not write our own maps but have them created from a large company in germany who are excellent. quote from our website "Our files are developed by real professionals and tested on a 800kw dyno, If you get quoted less than £200 for a remap chances are the files the tuner is using is of bad quality which may make your car smokey and possibly damage your engine"

Im not a mechanic so i dont know exactly what may happen im in sales and marketing but i have seen us have to remap a car that has been done by another company because they were over boosting and the company who originally done the file said the job they done was fine it must be the car. When we sent data to our german counterparts they sent email back sayin "whoa too much pressure will modify, who put data in vehicle a monkey" so they know what there doing.
