i am a novice when it comes to modding a car, have never done it before. this is the 1st time i am attempting to modify my car so i thought best to ask the advice of fellow (more experienced!!) owners. I am looking to lower my car and put 17 or 18 inch wheels on my ride. i aint the richest bloke to say the least so just wanted some advice/suggestions on which springs, wot size springs (35-45 mm?!?), reasonably priced. sorry to sound abit thick but as i said i am a virgin when it comes to modding!!!

Alright mate,

Check this out:
https://www.topgear.co.uk/acatalog/Spax_ ... nault.html
Item No: S031059 for yours, £89.99 -45mm

Got these on mine, no complaints, really improved the handling, would say defos go for the -45mm,

If you wanted to go lower you'd need to get coilovers which are like £700 or something, which seems abit daft to me, for the sake of an extra 25mm

mate, your black rims look mean!! i am so tempted to buy those springs... even the standar 16's look good lowered!! have to wait till friday till i get my wages packet. are they easy/heard to fit?? is it best to get them fitted by a specialist/kwikfit/hi-q?

well im pretty good with cars but i wouldnt atempt to change them myself, unless you've done it before id leave it to the proffesionals.

I wouldnt go to kwikfit or hi-q either, i would of thort they'll have your eyes out, could always go and ask them how much tho, i only paid £30 to have them fitted but my dads mate did them, only took about an hour and a half and he'd never done them before.
Id just ask round a few local garages from the yellow pages or something. think people generally pay around the £50 to get them done.

alright guys, i was lookin' into gettin stuff done to my car. was gonna attempt a sport look-a-like which r55vys gimme loads of info on, decided against it. renault over here in N.I. are useless and so reluctant to help. so im gonna just get the series 2 spoiler, windows tinted and the bumper moulds coded. ive all my money saved up, so im hopin to get it done soon. renault are bein' prats about the spoiler but thats the way they are over here. i like the idea of the lowering springs. is the 89.99 the rpice for the 4?? one other thing does the series 2 spoiler (one without the light) need a bonding kit?

all renault dealers are ar$eholes, they wont let you take any part no's or anything, and none of them seem to know anything about the 225s,
Best thing to do is to get a reg no. of a 225 take that in and they can show you all the parts on screen, the front bumper is available as a kit including all grills undertrays, fillets etc think it costs about £300 odd quid, id check ebay. etc.
Series 2 spoiler?
do you mean the same one as mine?

£125 from renault, not sure about the part no. could find it for you. but it comes with a fitting kit, all relevant bolts fittings etc, my local bodyshop just bonded it on tho, and its on solid enough.

the series 2 spoiler is yours mate yeah. ive got enough money to get my windows done the spoiler bought and fitted and the molds coded. but i do really wanna go the whole ay and get the 225 bumpers. 300 for the bumper and all the parts sounds fair enough. but ive tried breakers and ebay and they either have none or the bumpers are replicas. is each 225 bumper like 300 each?

could be more than £300 i can just remember a 3 being at the front, also not sure if that will have included vat, knowing renault it wont. so could be more, but as i say if you take a reg plate into a dealer they should be able to tell you, although they probs wont let you write down the part no, as to make it easier for when you actually want to buy it. but think there both about the same price, rear is slightly cheaper as theres not as much for it.
But parts wise your gunna need:
Front bumper
Top grills
Lower grill
Headlight washers (unless you get the holes filled) & associated fixings - unless you just bond them on for the look.
Undertray
Arch Fillets
you can take the ren badge and fogs from your std bumper.

Rear bumper
Lower grills
Arch Fillets
