This is the replacment filter that everyones seems to go for, its the same fitment as the 225, as are alot of parts from the engine.
https://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=1491

Dump valves about £300 fitted. theres a guy on one of the websites from scotland with one, this is the place that does them. Its a propa working dump valve just electronically controlled to relese the boost, no gain in bhp/torque just purly for the noise, as it is with the petrols
https://www.zen19051.zen.co.uk/prod01.htm

Remaps see this guy:
https://www.rstuning.co.uk/
Hes the guy who has developed the software so is the best person to see for the job, think i got quoted around £395 or somnething to have done. and after having a word with him he told me that the engines are good for 150ish bhp and extra 40lbs or torque, can handle more but eats the clutch.

A 225/r26 forge etc intercooler will fit as the standard diesel one is the same as the 225 one. £400 fitted from above.

Jets from 175/130/150

I got my Green Cotton filter from these people:

Check the internet for cheaper prices and look out for varying P&P charges.

And really how much difference does the filter make? Is it really worth doing?

The engine feels slightly more responsive as it can breathe easier. The original filter is quite a chunk of paper whereas the GC filter is virtually see through.

And it's easy to fit? (I've never done more than top up the oil under a bonnet before...)

If the 1.6 is the same layout as the 1.4, you will need a torx screwdriver to undo the two air filter box screws. This box is situated between the engine and the bulkhead and is connected by a hose to another box above the clutch bell housing which is held in place by a 12mm bolt. Removing this piece first allow more room to get into the air filter box.
If you fit a GC filter, make sure that you check it every 6 months and if possible, blow it clean with an air line. You should also buy a spray-on oil for the filter which should be used after you have cleaned it. Take care of your filter and it should last for years.

I read the K&N filter was to be avoided because it was coated with an oil (that irritated the engine...)

I've heard people say to avoid K&N filters but I'm not sure why.

Might irritate the the air-flow-mass sensor if re-oiled too heavy. But these sensors are only in the diesel-engines, the petrol-engines have MAP-Sensors, so no problem at all.

Hi matt. Just realised your not far from me, I live in Cheltenham, just down the M5 from you. If you wanted to meet up, I've had my DCI120 remapped by RsTuning and you can see the difference in performance it makes (much better, but could always be more :) )
