hi all,

I was messing about with my head unit and sat nav...bla bla bla....................

anyway i was in the boot and wanted to know how to take off the rear light......its soo simple!!

once i un screwed the two holding taps, the whole light fixture came off. and i noticed an extra bult in the top section of the rear lights...what is it there for?? and why leave a bulb in it??

i haven't found the standard plug for it, but i have connected it in series with the normal brake lights and it looks really good!!!

now is this illegal??

if not, its great!!! its like the new mercedes "C" brake lights

It's the fog light.
I just connected a cable from the positive terminal of the working foglight to the one on the other side, it's already grounded.

not really!!

if your cleave, then you would change the bulb to suit!! i.e to the same bulb spec that your break light is

but if your referring to the cop lights i got, then yeah probably!!! lol

i will have to keep both eyes open

I thought that brake lights and rear fog lights used the same bulbs, so it would just look odd having an extra light coming on when you brake.

The other day I unclipped the internal cover for one of the rear lights and removed the board, but was surprised to see all the bulbs the same size. I have some LED tail lights to put on, but don't know which ones they are! The lights cunningly turn off when I get out (which is exactly what I want). I have a facelifted Sport Tourer if anyone knows which it is!

The brake lights should be the only ones with two filaments in the bulb, the pins should als be offset on it

The fog lights and the brake lights use the same wattage bulbs, 21w the only difference is that the fog light may have a highly polished reflector in there to make it look brighter.

The twin filament ones are only used for your rear lights, they will be a 5w and a 21w.

I would think that you would get a tug from the old bill for this as both your rear lights wouldn't be the same.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Tail lights and brake lights, that's why there's 2 filaments.
