DRL's DIY Job

Postby Charleekap » Thu May 12, 2016 1:22 am

Good morning all!

I am curious whether anyone has made thier own set of DRL's??

I have bought approved LED strips and was going to use an SPDT relay so that when the headlights come on the DRLs turn off.

I'm wondering if this will cause any problems with the UAC ( I believe it's the existing lighting relay attached to the battery)

Has anyone had experience with trying this?

Thanks in advance

Easiest way is to use a pre-set wiring loom
have a look at this one which works on the fact that the voltage varies when the engine is running, it also includes a cable for attachment to the Side/Low beam to dim the DRLs at night (not currently enforced for after-market, but who knows ;) )

I've got one from china which is about half this price and is actually better "engineered", and actually comes with an option to flash in sync with indicators, (if you have the Dual colour LED Strips), but the delivery is a month Plus
