1.6 16v modding

Postby Maynard1392 » Mon Nov 02, 2015 6:45 pm

Hey guys, im new to the forum but have a question.

I havea 1.6 16V dynamique 5Door 2005, and i want to make it faster, i have done some minor mods already such as..

1)Full catback exhaust system

2)a K&N panel filter which i just installed to try after having a RamAir cold air induction kit.

3)Apex 30mm lowering springs

4)Alloy Wheels with Gt tyres (not sure of make as bought from a friend)

I have done some research online and in fastcarmagazine and alot of people have suggested the following..

New throttle body

Forge pistons

New manifold

Anybody got any suggested on if they are worth it, im looking into buying a turbo in the near futurebut want a bullet run around car. Any suggestions would be great.

would be much cheaper to buy a used 225 engine and run it in there. as for the price of forging + turboing an 1.6L engine which would max out at 250hp max max, would get you a 225 engine and you would still be left with a money for further upgrades which would be much much more reliable.

Just the sort of post I was looking for, I got a k&n typhoon filter coming and I was wondering how do you remove the standard air filter box I seem to have gotten stuck, do I need to remove e the battery for it to come out????

if you want to take out the whole airbox then you need to lift the battery, and the battery pan together with the ecu, and than it is a tight job for removing them
