Blanking plate

Postby gezhughes12 » Tue Oct 14, 2014 10:43 am

Hi I have a dump valve on my megane 225 and was thinking of getting a forge blanking plate as I'm after a more "chatter" noise when It dumps , is this the right way to go about it ??

Anyone already got one fitted and have any feedback ??

Cheers :-)

No, the maximum you can get is the dump valve sound, but you will need a dump valve replacement as well. The chatter is a different thing - it is a compressor surge caused by an imperfect dump valve design, i.e. something you don't want to have.

My advice is to not fiddle with these, as you will lose power as a result. It is hard to beat the stock setup. If you want more noise, then change the exhaust, just make sure the noisy one is not heavier.
