The Mégane II Owners' Club

Hi there guys.

I am modifying a megane mk2 1.6 16v and trying to make it look alike megane 225.
I already bought the front and rear bumper, modified my headlights but im not sure about the exhaust, should i get a used exhaust from e megane 225 or should i get some brand new on ebay from other tuning brands.

Also i want to know if chiptuning is a bad idea, i seen some on ebay that claim it will add 10% of bhp and torque, are they real and can they damage my engine.

Another question, would a gear box with 6 speed fit on my megane 1.6 16v 2004?

Not sure about the gearbox, but for the exhaust, personally I would only use the genuine one for a genuine look. I would definitely avoid 'off-the-shelf' exhausts, but you can get one made by an exhaust specialist, however, I prefer the original.

Chip tuning / remapping is pointless on a petrol car unless you modify the engine extensively as you don't get much gains without other mods, but the eBay stuff, stay well clear as they will damage your car (they're just some kind of cheap resisters that fools the cars ECU into overfueling or something like that I believe).
