Suspension kit and alloy wheels.

Hi guys.
This is my first post and would like to say hello to everyone. I been reading up on the forums for a while now and it's a wealth of useful information. I have a 2003 Black Renault Megane MK2 Hatchback 1.4L 16V 5 door and it has served me very well so far. I have had my fair share of issues but thankfully nothing major so far.

1. I decided to upgrade the suspension and found these on ebay and was just wondering of any kind of advice regarding them or if anyone here has the same. I wanted the car to feel a bit less wallowy in the corners and a bit more responsive.

If anyone has any other suggestions around the same price range, I would greatly appreciate it. My other option is to just get the springs (45mm) and leave the factory shocks on as it would be cheaper. I tried to find a reasonably price set of uprated gas shocks (back and front) but no success so far. That's why the package no name kit seems the better option at the moment.

2. Further down the line, I would like to get a nice set of alloys, probably 17 or 18 inch ones. I was wondering what PCD and offset I would need to fit the car.

I have found another suspension kit off the Dc Performace website. Anyone has any experience with this kit and dealing with the website?

Update:

So, I decided to get the Supersport Sprint suspension kit from www.Maxxtune.de as it was the cheapest place including shipping to Ireland. It has been shipped and really can't wait for it to get here and for the kit to be fitted onto the car. I will take a picture of the before and after the fitting. At the moment, the car is running on the stock 16'' Renault alloys with all weather Petlas snowmaster tyres that were recently put on.

p.s: Had a look at your car Eddie- Looks awesome! Really well done. Very subtle and tasteful mods. Bet all the hard work was worth it

Cheers for the info Eddie. A daily car, with the 45mm drop is what I am looking for. I tend to do quite a lot of driving and need something stable because at the moment, the car feels like a boat going round corners compared to the wife's Seat Leon R.

Offtopic: I really liked the way you colour coded the bumper and sidestrips for your car. Is there any way to do that without getting it professionally resprayed? i.e a cheap diy way of doing it. Also, was it hard to get the strips off? Your project car gave me lots of ideas and I might have more questions

That's exactly what I am hoping to achieve with the new suspension. Less body roll because at the moment, if there is anyone else in the car, they get flung from one side to the other when driving round a corner.

Thanks for all the info about the bumpers and how to colour code them. Might be a nice weekend project once the weather gets a bit better here. Car is black and was thinking might even paint them red, red brake calipers and red wing mirrors to tie it all together since I do tend to like red...a lot

Update:
The Supersprint Sport Kit came today via courrier. Very efficient service from Maxxtune.de and very reasonable cost for delivery with tracking (E17.90). Came in a big box, quite heavy and looked really nice. Didn't get a chance to take a picture of them before they went onto the car straight away by the garage mechanic. Took it for a very short drive back home but I reckon it will take a little while to settle in. It looks very nice now with the stock alloys. Happy so far. Pictures to follow as soon as I move into the new place

Update:

Here are some pictures with the Supersport Sprint suspension kit on the car. Lowered by 45mm all round. Think it looks not too bad. Handling has definitely improved from before and going over potholes is not a judder to the spines of anyone in the car

Definitely looks a lot better than standard I've got a 1.9dci that I'm hoping to drop soon and that height looks perfect

I had this kit on mine. It was great until I hit a pothole that bent one of the struts like a banana!
