LED Main Bulbs
Has anyone tried the H1 / H11 LED bulbs for the main beam / fog lamps respectively? Are they any good and are they worth getting?
I'm thinking of getting a set for main beam and fog lamps (purely for the whiter light colour) as these are not used as often as the dipped beam (have got HID's for dipped) but when they are used, the're pretty useless (and odd coloured) against the HID's. I know I should probably go for nightbreakers, but the LED's are tempting....
Any thoughts?

Re: LED Main Bulbs
I have SMD's for fog lights, very bright very white but they don't last all that long, they are multi smd bulbs an I think the first if the smds went after about a week, the majority are still lit, just not so bright..
Hope that made sense..

Re: LED Main Bulbs
Thanks for that.
If they don't last as long then I'm probably not going to bother - don't fancy taking the bumper off every so often to change the bulb.
My other concern was some of the smd's going out, and from your post above, that is another likelihood so I guess I'll keep these halogen for now, posibly Osram nightbreakers or rather the silverstars

isn't that the point? so people can see them?
but yes, i agree the bright red leds can be over powering if you're positioned at the wrong (or correct?) angle/height

Yes, but when you're behind someone who won't take their foot off the brake pedal even after they've stopped, it is kind overpowering

Re: LED Main Bulbs
I have LED 108 SMD's for main beam they are not as bright and country roads can be a problem but they are rather good and disperse light nicely... I will stick with them until I get xeon's with angel light,

Re: LED Main Bulbs
I have ordered a set of LED H11's for the front foglamps and LED H1's for the main beam. Already running 20smd side lights and they're brilliant. Just waiting on (for about a month now) for the H1's to be delivered before I fit them all in. I wouldn't have bothered if one of the main beam bulbs hadn't blown though so since I have to ge one out anyway, I might as well do both (and the fogs as they will then be the only 'odd' coloured lights if and when I use them).

H1's didn't fit (physically), and the H11's would not turn on for some reason when I tried to fit these some time ago.
Yesterday, I fitted H11 HID's (6,000k) to the foglamps instead - looks awesome. The only halogens I've got now are the H1 high beams. I might change these to Osram Silverstars or Night Breakers eventually.
As an aside, I was going to fit the ballasts for the foglamps to the inside of the bumper, but I wasn't sure if they get hot during use or not (and distort the bumper?), so I fitted them to the undertray (hopefully, out of the way where they won't get overly wet).
